SUMMARY of the thesis

David's thesis explores the role of factors associated with industry-university collaboration in metropolitan and non-metropolitan regions in Denmark, Norway and Portugal. The factors include the role played by universities' actions to promote collaboration with regional firms, university graduates' links with firms, and firms' links with other organisations than universities, in particular research and technology organisations.
