The IKE seminars are organized by Esben Sloth Andersen, Michael S. Dahl and Dorte Baymler. The seminar series is open to all interested parties - also for presentation. Occassionally international speakers are also invited to give a seminar.
The IKE seminars normally take place every second Friday at
14:30 in the IKE library, Fib. 4/33.
The time slots are distributed according to a
first-come-first-served principle every half year. If the program has not become too
crowded, new seminars may be added at any time during a semester.
Seminars are announced at the IKE Event Calender. There will normally be a link to a downloadable discussion paper for each seminar. A supplementary announcement will normally be made by email to the seminar mailing list ike-sem@business.aau.dk. Contact Dorte Køster, if you are interested in getting on the seminar mailing list.
The purposes of the seminars are:
- to give PhD students and senior researchers a possibility to present
interesting work in progress, e.g. thesis work or a coming paper;
- to give room for a discussion of common themes;
- to give invited guests a chance to present their work and to obtain feedback.
The seminar format is quite informal. However, there is a chair to facilitate the discussion.
Presentation are limited to maximum 30-45 minutes, followed by 30-45 minutes of questions and comments. Coffee and tea (and
often also cake) will be served during the seminar.
Here is the algorithm for anyone who wants to propose a seminar:
1. Send an email to Esben or Michael that indicates the title of your seminar and the
proposed date.
2. As soon as your seminar is accepted, it will be added on the Event
Calendar by Dorte.
3. Send your paper or discussion note to Dorte at least a week before the seminar. She will upload it to the
web server (in PDF format) and add a link to it from the Event Calendar.
4. A couple of days before the seminar you should send an email to the
ike-sem mailing list. Here you should remind the list about the time and
title and you should also give the web link to the uploaded paper. You
may add some more adverticements for your seminar.
